LIVING WITH THE WILDLIFE

On Wednesday, May 22 at 4 p.m., the Massachusetts Audubon will present a program at the senior center that will delve into the harmonious coexistence of humans and the wildlife that inhabits our communities and natural landscapes.  This presentation focuses on the possibility of sharing spaces with native species while ensuring everyone's safety.  Participants will gain insights into how to peacefully coexists with animals right in our own communities. Please sign up in advance and will save you a seat.

 

NAIL ART EXPRESSIONS

Nail art can be a joyful outlet for self-care. Join us on Thursday, May 30 at 11 a.m. for a Nail Art Expressions program that will be organized and run by enthusiastic students, who will provide a variety of color options for your self-expression.  Students will prep and paint your nails while providing a gently hand. Don't miss out on the fun  please sign up in advance.

 

TRIP TO THE ENCHANTING 1000 ISLANDS IN OCTOBER

On Oct. 1-3, enjoy a breathtaking journey through the Adirondack Mountains of New York to the Saint Lawrence Seaway and the famous 1000 Islands. Our destination is Alexandria Bay where we will be staying for 2 nights at Capt. Thomson's Resort overlooking the St. Lawrence River and the picturesque Boldt Castle. This evening we will enjoy riverside dining at Windows on the Bay restaurant.  On day 2 we will have free time in the morning to explore Alexandria Bay, then we will embark on a Two-Nation Cruise with lunch aboard the Uncle Sam paddlewheeler as we cruise around the many islands and inlets. Our boat will drop us off at Heart Island where we can visit the majestic Boldt Castle. We will visit the 1000 Islands Winery for a tasting, and this evening's dinner is at Cavallerio's Steak & Seafood Restaurant..  On day 3 we visit the 1000 Islands Antique Boat Museum and we will have free time in Clayton village before leaving for home. The cost for this trip is $745 per person/double, $890 per person/single and $710 per person/triple.  The cost includes round trip transportation, 2 nights lodging, 2 breakfasts, 1 lunch, 2 dinners, luncheon cruise, visit to Boldt Castle, Wine tasting, Antique Boat Museum, all taxes, gratuities and trip protection insurance.  A $100 deposit is due at registration with the balance due by August 5.  Registration for Foxborough residents begins on Thursday, May 23 at noon.  Non-resident registration will begin on Thursday, May 30 at noon.

 

TRAVEL TO WITH US TO THE HUSDON RIVER VALLEY, WEST POINT & RHINEBECK VILLAGE

On August 4 - 6 we'll be traveling to the Hudson River Valley, a region of fjord-like beauty where the Hudson River cuts through the Appalachian Mountain Range.  Our 1st destination is the historic village of Rhinebeck and the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome, a living history museum of vintage aircraft, antique vehicles and engines.  We will experience "The History of Flight" - an Air Show featuring World War I era fighter planes and the golden age of aviation in the 20's and 30's. Dinner is included at the Hudson River House Hotel.  On day 2 we will travel to Kingston, NY for a scenic cruise down the Hudson River with breathtaking views and expert narration., followed by a 2-hour guided tour of West Point Military Academy and dinner at the iconic Thayer Hotel.  Before we head home on day 3, we will visit the Military Museum and our last stop will be at Hyde Park, for a visit to the Presidential Library and Museum of FDR. The cost for this trip is $860 per person/double, $1092 per person/single and $630 per person/triple.  The cost includes transportation, 2 nights at The Holiday Inn Express hotel, 5 meals, the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome, Hudson River Cruise, guided tour of West Point Academy, Dinner at the Thayer Hotel, visit to FDR's Presidential Library, all gratuities and trip protection insurance.  A $100 deposit is due at registration with the balance due by June 7.  Registration for this trip has begun.

MEET THE NEW VETERAN SERVICES OFFICER

The Town of Foxborough's new Veteran Services Officer, Michelle Hamilton, will be starting her new position in Foxborough on April 22.  Michelle previously was the VSO for the City of Fall River.  We are very excited about the opportunity for her to provide excellent services to Foxborough's veterans.  On Tuesday, May 14 at 3:45 p.m., please come and meet Michelle and Veteran Services Administrative Assistant Lauren Shurtleff while you enjoy some pizza. HEALING THROUGH WORDS - An invitation to connect with yourself

Healing through words is a guided journey of oneself, a cathartic mindful exploration through writing.  Join us for a 3-part workshop of "Healing Through Words" on the following Wednesdays from noon to 1 p.m.: May 8, 15 and 21.  In this workshop you will be given a multitude of exercises filled with themes, trauma, loss, heartache, love, healing and celebration of self.  It is a creativity tool for everyone.  The cost is $35 per person. Be sure to sign up in advance with your payment and we'll save you a seat.

 

TRIP TO THE EDWARD M. KENNEDY INSTITUTE

The Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate actively inspires all Americans to keep our democracy and civic life vibrant, educates the public about the unique role of the Senate in our government, and promotes civic discourse to drive bipartisan solutions for our nation's challenges.  On Thursday, June 20 from 9a.m. to 3 p.m. we will be traveling into Boston via school bus for a group visit to the Institute.  Seniors will have 90 minutes to explore the Institute including the full-scale replica of the United States Senate chamber.  Afterwards we will head to Sullivan's at castle Island for a late lunch (on your own) before returning to Foxborough.  The bus will leave from the Booth Parking Lot at 9 a.m.  The cost is $25 per person and is due when you sign up in advance.

 

WARRIOR YOGA

Prolonged exposure to combat and operational stress are just part of the job for service members and first responders.  Warriors receive some of the best training to prepare for facing extreme conditions. Warrior Yoga classes are coordinated from the "Warrior Within Yoga Project" and it is a great opportunity for veterans and first responders to practice yoga in a group setting.  This 5-week program will be held on the following Tuesdays from 5 to 6 p.m.: April 30, May 7, 14, 21 and 28.  These classes are free, but you must sign up in advance.

 

SENIOR WOMEN'S DISCUSSION GROUP

Ladies, join us on the 2nd Monday of each month at 11 a.m. for our Senior Women's Discussion Group. The next meeting will be on Monday, May 13 at 11 a.m. It's time to gather and discuss the joys and challenges of aging, both physically and emotionally, our experiences as we evolve into this chapter of our lives, what our "happy place" is and many other topics of interest.  Collectively, we share our wisdom and the perspective we have gained over the course of our lives in a safe non-judgmental place. This group is facilitated by former Taylor School teacher, Marilyn Goldman. Sign up if you'd like to join us.

 

LEAH'S ART CORNER IN MAY

In May, join Leah Snow on Monday, May 20, at 1 p.m. at the Lane Property (on North Street) on a journey of arts and creation!  Leah's art classes include all supplies and tutorials on many forms of arts and crafts from felting to acrylics, providing personalized instruction as you create something for your home. Please sign up in advance and join us to find out what unique are project Leah has planned for you! Please note that these classes will be held at the Lane Property (not the senior center).

 

LEFT, RIGHT, CENTER

Left, Right, Center, or LRC, is a simple, yet very fun game.  There is no skill needed to enjoy playing and it's an opportunity to meet new friends.  If you have never heard of this game, it is VERY easy to play. Join us starting Wednesday, June 12 at 1:15 p.m., and continuing monthly every 2nd Wednesday at 1:15. Please sign up in advance.

 

CARD MAKING CLASS

Are you a crafty person?  Are you interested in learning a new skill?  Helen Rice is hosting her famous card making class at the senior center on Thursday, June 13 at 2 p.m. and every 2nd Thursday of the month.  All supplies are included, and at the end of the class, you will have a beautiful handmade card for a future event! Please sign up to let us know you'll be joining us.

 

CRAFT WITH TRACY

Join Tracy as she leads the group in making a fun spring-themed craft on Monday, May 20 at 11 a.m. All supplies are included. Sign up in advance if you'd like to join us.

 

Q/A WITH THE TOWN MANAGER

Town Manager Paige Duncan will be at the senior center for some coffee and conversation each month on a new day and time. In June, she will be joining us on Monday, June 24 at 11 a.m. Paige will now be with us at the senior center on the 4th Monday of every month at 11 a.m. and she will keep us up to date on what's going on in Foxborough.   This is a great opportunity for you to join in the conversation and get your questions answered. BOOK CLUB

Our senior center Book Club will be meeting on Monday, June 3 at 11 a.m.  This program, led by Library Director Libby O'Neill, is designed for seniors who love to read and discuss books.  If you are interested in taking part in the Book Club, please sign up in advance.

 

FRIENDS BINGO - BRING A FRIEND - ALL ARE WELCOME

Come and join us for Bingo at the senior center on Tuesday, June 4 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. and every 1st Tuesday of the month.  Win cash prizes in varying amounts. There is a nominal fee of $1 per card.  Bring a friend!  Call to sign up. This program is hosted by the Friends of Foxboro Seniors.

 

VETERANS CLUB

The mission of the Veterans Club is to create a listening session around veterans and their stories to ensure that this living history will never be forgotten.  The Veterans Club meets at the senior center on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month at 2:30 p.m. The next Monday meeting will be on May 20.  Sign up in advance if you'd like to join us.

 

MASTERS OF THE AIR

Based on the 2007 book "Masters of the Air: America's Bomber boys who Fought the Air War Against Nazi Germany," Apple TV's 9-part TV miniseries follow the actions of the 100th Bomb Group during World War II.  This series serves as a companion to the shows "Band of Brothers" and "The Pacific" as it is produced in the same style by Steven Spielberg & Tom Hanks.  The 9 episodes will be shown at the senior center on the following Thursdays at 2 p.m.: March 28, April 4, 11, 25, May 2, 9, 23, 30 and June 6. Sign up in advance if you'd like to join us.


JUNE LUNCHEON OUTING

Our next luncheon outing will be on Wednesday, June 12 at 1 p.m. at The House of Fortune restaurant in Plainville.  Call us to sign up by Monday, June 10 and meet us at the restaurant on the 12th.  For those who require van transportation, arrangements must be made by Monday the 12th.

 

MAY SENIOR SUPPER

Our Monthly Senior Supper program focuses on a unique high quality catered mean.  Join us for an evening out with friends on Wednesday, May 29 when we will be serving Chicken Parmesan and Caesar Salad. The program will start at 4 p.m. and food will be served around 4:30. The cost is $8 per person and must be paid in advance when you sign up.

 

MEN'S BBQ

It's time for the men to return outside and enjoy a great men's BBQ every month.  Our next Men's BBQ will be held on Thursday, May 30 at 12 noon.  The cost is $3 per person.  You must sign up in advance with your payment.

 

SENIOR SANDWICHES

On Thursdays, we offer Grab and Go Senior Sandwiches at the senior center. You can pick up your sandwich at the front desk on Thursdays at any time between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., and you can take the sandwich with you, or you are welcome to eat in the Coffee Room or on the outside benches. Quantities are limited, so you MUST sign up in advance to get your Senior Sandwich meal. There is a suggested donation of $3 to HESSCO.

 

TRAVEL WITH US ON THE FOLIAGE TURKEY TRAIN TOUR

Join us for the perfect Foliage Day Trip to Meredith, NH on Wednesday, Oct. 9.  We will be leaving Foxborough at 9:30 a.m. from the side parking lot of St. Mary's Church, 58 Carpenter Street. We will begin our day with a beautiful scenic drive up north where we will board the Winnipesaukee Turkey Train at the Hobo Railroad. This 2-hour scenic train ride includes a delicious full turkey dinner complete with all the fixin's! This exceptional turkey meal is provided by Hart's Turkey Farm.  Following the lunch train excursion we'll board the motorcoach and head to Moulton Farm, in the heart of the Lakes Region. Browse their farm stand, garden center or pick up a treat in their bakery. Registration for this trip has begun. The cost is $140 for Foxborough residents and $145 for non-residents, and must be paid at the time of registration. Join your friends for a fun day and a great meal!

 

MAY MOVIE DAYS

The theme for our May movies is "Joaquin Phoenix" and the movies will be shown on the following Tuesday afternoons at 1:30 p.m.:

May 14 - "Walk the Line" (2005) - A chronicle of country music legend Johnny Cash's (Joaquin Phoenix) life, from his early days on an Arkansas cotton farm to his rise to fame with Sun Record in Memphis, where he recorded alongside Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins.

May 24 - "Napoleon" (2023) - The apple TV+ exclusive epic details the rise and fall of French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte (Joaquin Phoenix) and his relentless journey to power through the prism of his addictive, volatile relationship with his wife Josephine.

BLOOD PRESSURE CLINIC

Blood Pressure Clinics are available at the senior center on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. by appointment.  The upcoming clinics will be held on May 14 & 21.  Please call the senior center at 508-543-1234 to set up an appointment.

 

HEARING HEALTH

On Wednesdays, May 15 & 22, June 5, 12 & 26 there are Hearing Clinics offered at the senior center from 1 to 3 p.m.  This program is free and provides a hearing screening, ear wax removal, hearing aid cleaning and service by appointment. Call in advance to schedule a 20-minute appointment.

 

FOOT CARE FOR SENIORS

Keeping feet in good condition is essential for effective functioning, promoting leg strength, and reducing falls. Foot Care Nurse Ami, is at our senior center on the 2nd Friday of every month to hold 20 minute footcare appointments.  This service includes assessment, nail clipping and filing, corn and callous reduction and a light foot massage.  The next clinic date will be held on June 14 starting at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $36 and must be paid in advance when you schedule your appointment.

 

LOW VISION SUPPORT GROUP

The Low Vision Support Group will be meeting on Thursday, May 16 1 to 2 p.m.  This adult group provides peer support and information for anyone with vision loss or those who have concerns about their vision.  If you are interested in participating, please check with Pam McGuire by calling 508-543-1234.

 

REFLEXOLOGY 

On Friday, May 17, and on the 3rd Friday of each month, the senior center is offering reflexology appointments from 9 a.m. to noon.  Reflexology is based on stimulating specific points on the feet that correspond to other areas and organs of the body.  Reflexology is used to restore the body?s natural equilibrium by improving circulation and reducing tension. This relaxing and rejuvenating experience will involve aromatherapy infused reflexology.  The cost is $45 per half hour appointment.  Sign up with your payment to schedule an appointment.

 

HAIR STYLING

Would you like to get your hair cut and styled in the comfort of the Foxborough Senior Center? Hair Stylist Laurie Nicklas is at the senior center every 4th Friday of each month, from 10 a.m. to noon.  The cost per person is $15 for women and men. Laurie will be at the senior center on Friday, May 24. Sign up with your payment in advance to schedule an appointment.

 

STEVE AVELLINO'S "BRAKE DANCING FOR SENIORS" CLASS

Steve Avellino's new 6-week class, "Brake Dancing for Seniors" will begin on Monday, April 22.  This 6-week program is designed to work the eccentric contractions of the muscles (braking system).  This modality will improve dynamic posture and stability.  The program is facilitated by Steve Avellino, MFT, CES, SSN, CSCS and CET. The classes will meet at 11:45 a.m. on the following Mondays:  April 22, 29, May 6, 13, 20 and June 3. The cost for the class is $42 per person.  Sign up in advance with your payment.

 

"INCREASE REACTION TIME" CLASSES WITH STEVE AVELLINO

Steve Avellino's next 6-week session of Thursday morning classes, "Increase Reaction Time," will begin on Thursday, April 18.  A 20-year old and an 80-year old fall at the same speed.  The 20-year old has quicker reaction time which will decrease the chance of falling. This 6-week program is designed to increase our upper and lower body reaction time using different training modalities.  We can increase our reaction time (mind/muscle messaging ) through repetition.  This program is facilitated by Steve Avellino MFT, CES, SSF, SSN, CSCS, CES.  The classes will be held on the following Thursdays at 9 a.m.: April 18, 25, May 2, 9, 16 & 23.  The cost is $42.  Sign up in advance with your payment.

 

MEN'S FITNESS CLASSES

The 6-week Men's Fitness program is designed to help senior males move and feel better.  We combine fitness with corrective exercise to alleviate joint pain and promote better mobility.  This program is facilitated by Steve Avellino CFT, CES, SSF, SSN and the next session of classes with be held on the following Thursdays: April 25, May 2, 9, 16 & 23.  Due to the popularity of this program, there are now 2 Men's Fitness Classes offered on Thursdays. The first class runs from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and the 2nd class runs from 11 a.m. to noon. The cost is $42 per person and must be paid at the time you sign up for one of the classes.

 

FOXBOROUGH MEMORY CAFE

The Foxborough Memory Cafe is a welcoming place for individuals, families and friends of those living with memory changes. Join us on Tuesday, May 21, and the third Tuesday of each month, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. for our Memory Cafe at the Foxborough Senior Center. Join us for live music, come listen, sing along, tap your feet and enjoy. We respectfully ask caregivers to remain with their loved ones during this program.  Please sign up in advance and we'll save you a seat. If you have any questions, call us at 508-543-1234.

 

VANGO DISCOVERY CLUB

The VanGo Discovery Club will provide an opportunity to venture out and explore a new (or familiar) location.  Registrants will travel using the VanGo for an independent, self-guided exploration for 3-4 hours. Park your car at the Booth Playground (80 South Street) by 10 a.m. where you will board the van. Registration for these day trips has begun. The cost for the trip is $12 per person, plus additional entry fees at certain locations.  The Wednesday trip schedule is as follows: May 22 - Castle Island; June 5 - Sam Slater Experience ($10 entry fee); June 12 - Falmouth:  June 26 - Heritage Museum ($18 entry fee); July 10 - Wickford Village; July 24 - JFK Library  ($12 entry fee); August 7 - Plymouth; August 21 - Nantasket Beach; September 11 - Borderland State Park; September 25 - Kowloon; and Oct. 9 - Hoxie Hill & Grist Mill in Sandwich  ($12 entry fee). Please sign up with your payment for specific Discovery Club trips.

 

CAPE COD LUNCH TRAIN TOUR

Join the Foxborough seniors on Wednesday, June 12 for a scenic ride to Hyannis, MA where we will board the Colonial Lunch Train for a 2 hour Cape Cod journey and a 3 course meal! We will leave Foxborough by motorcoach at 9:15 a.m. from the side parking lot of St. Mary's Church at 58 Carpenter Street. While onboard, we will be treated to expertly prepared food served with white linen class while we enjoy a mid-day escape on a relaxing train ride.  Your meal choice is Pistachio Crusted Cod, Baked Chicken Florentine, Vegetable Noodles or Cape Cod Central's Turkey Sandwich. Each meal is accompanied by Sagamore Signature Scallop and Bacon Chowder, coffee/tea with Chef's choice dessert. Following our excursion, we will head to Hyannis for exploring and shopping on your own.. The cost is $151 per person for Foxboro residents and $156 per person for non-residents.  Registration with your payment has begun.

 

DAY TRIP ON THE ESSEX STEAM TRAIN & RIVERBOAT

All Aboard!! Join us on a special Rail & Sail trip to Essex, Connecticut on Thursday, Aug. 15. We will be leaving from the side parking lot of St. Mary's Church, 58 Carpenter Street, at 9 a.m. Upon arrival at the Essex Station, we will board the steam train where we will enjoy lunch on board a dining car while we take a scenic train excursion through the beautiful countryside.  For lunch, you have a choice of Braised Beef with carrots, celery & red wine, Mushroom Asiago Chicken or Baked Ziti with ricotta & fresh mozzarella. The train travels along the Connecticut River to Deep River.  Upon arrival at the Deep River Station we will board the Riverboat for a relaxing ride along the Connecticut River. The cost for this trip is $155 for Foxboro residents and $165 for non-residents.  We have started a waiting list for this trip.

 

VISIT THE ISABELLA STEWART GARDNER MUSEUM WITH LUNCH AT THE VENEZIA

On Thursday, May 23 at 11 a.m. we will be leaving Foxborough from St. Mary's Church parking lot at 58 Carpenter and traveling to Boston.  We will start our day with an amazing lunch at the Venezia Restaurant where you will have your choice of Baked Haddock, Chicken Parmigiana or Pasta Primavera for lunch.  Then we are off to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum for a self-guided tour.  This museum first welcomed visitors on New Year's Day in 1903 and opened as a place to celebrate art, music and horticulture.  The museum became world famous in 1990 when 13 pieces of art were stolen.  This became the largest art theft in the world. The museum houses one of the nation's finest collections of art, and there are 3 floors of galleries that surround a garden courtyard blooming with life in all seasons.  The museum is filled with paintings, sculpture, tapestries, furniture, and decorative arts from cultures spanning 30 centuries.  The cost is $128 per person for Foxborough residents and $133 for non-residents. Registration for this trip has begun.

 

1 ON 1 TECH SUPPORT

Join us on Monday mornings from 10:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for our 1 On 1 Tech Support Program.  During your 1 on 1 individualized tech support appointment, you will be able to get answers relating to phones, tablets or computers.  Examples include troubleshooting, setting up a device, and other "how to" questions.  Call us to set up an appointment.

 

REPRESENTATIVE JAY BARROWS OFFICE HOUR

Join Representative Jay Barrows at the senior center on Tuesday, May 28 from 9 to 10 a.m. for a group discussion as well as question and answer session.  Representative Barrows will be at the senior center on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m.  Sign up in advance.

 

THEATER WORKSHOPS

Every Wednesday from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., our Theater Workshop meets at the senior center.  Learn character portrayal by reading scripts (mostly comedy).  This fun workshop is led by Evie Rayburg and Jeanne Bonneau, and does NOT require memorization, costumes or production.  This program is taking a break for the summer and will resume meeting once again after Labor Day.

 

SERENADING SENIORS CHORUS

The "Serenading Seniors" is a friendly, fun group of singers who meet weekly at the senior center for rehearsals and occasional performances at local venues.  This group meets every Wednesday at 10 a.m. Currently, membership is at capacity, but if you are interested in joining us, please call the senior center to get on a waiting list. For more information, the senior center can put you in touch with the Choral Director. This program is taking a break for the summer and will resume meeting once again after Labor Day.

 

ORGANIZED PICKLEBALL TIME FOR SENIORS

Foxborough's new Pickleball courts on Payson Road have been reserved for use by seniors on Friday mornings between 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.  If seniors would like to play Pickleball at the new courts, please call the senior center at 508-543-1234 to sign up in advance.

 

CHESS

Calling all Chess players!  On Friday mornings, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., come to the senior center and have fun playing chess with new friends while competing in this strategic board game while enjoying a cup of coffee and a donut. Please sign up in advance to let us know you'll be joining us.

 

TABLE TOP GARDEN CLUB

Our Table Top Garden Club, under the direction of Marsha Lewicke, meets at the senior center on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. Everyone is welcome to join us and no previous gardening experience is necessary. 

 

CRAFT GROUP

It's time to work on your crafts in a group setting with friends.  Join us at the senior center on Thursdays at 1:30 p.m.  If you'd like to participate, bring your craft to work on, such as knitting, embroidering, cross stitching, beading, diamonding, hand quilting or whatever small craft you may choose.  This group meets every Thursday at 1 p.m., except for the 3rd Thursday of each month.  Sign up in advance.

 

SELF DEFENSE CLASSES

Every Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m., our Tai Chi Instructor Elijah Swain will be providing a weekly self-defense class for seniors who are looking for the basics to protect themselves against potential threats.  The cost is $4 per class and is punch card eligible.

 

EARLY BEGINNER MAH JONGG

The Early Beginner Mah Jongg program meets at the senior center every Tuesday afternoon at 1 p.m., except for the 1st Tuesday of each month. This early beginner Mah Jongg free play group is for players who have only just recently started learning and may want to take each game a little slower than those who have played Mah Jongg for many years.  Sign up and let us know you?ll be joining us.

 

BRIDGE LESSONS

Bridge is a card game that is played all over the world, in person and online.  Bridge lessons at the senior center, with instructor Sunil Trivedi, will now be held on Tuesdays at 11:30 a.m.  This program will introduce new players to this international card game.  Please sign up if you'd like to join us.

 

MAH JONGG FREE PLAY

Mah Jongg Free Play meets every Wednesday from 12:30 to 3 p.m.  Sign up in advance if you'd like to join us.

 

TAI CHI

Start your day with the peaceful meditation and movement of Tai Chi led by instructor Elijah Swain on Tuesday mornings from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.  Elijah is a 9th Degree black belt and owns the Tai Jing Academy. The cost is $4 per class and is punch card eligible.  Thank you to the Friends of Foxboro Seniors for helping to fund this program. 

 

CHAIR YOGA

Chair Yoga classes are held at the senior center every Monday morning at 9:15 a.m. Yoga is a gentle form of yoga that can be done while sitting in a chair or while standing and using the chair for support. The cost for this class is $4 and is punch card eligible.  Due to limited space, you must call in advance to register for the class.

 

ZUMBA GOLD

Zumba is a fitness program inspired by Latin Dance.  Zumba combines Latin rhythms with cardiovascular exercise to create an aerobic tine that is fun and easy to follow.  Join us on Tuesday mornings at 9:45 a.m.  The cost is $4 per class and is punch card eligible.  Space is limited, so please call in advance to sign up for each class.

 

SCRABBLE

Do you enjoy playing a game of Scrabble or would you like to learn how to play?  We have a Scrabble group that meets on Monday afternoons at 12:30 p.m. at the senior center.  Challenge your mind, enjoy some time with friends and have lots of fun.  If you're interested in playing, call us to sign up.

 

STRENGTH TRAINING

Our Strength Training classes are held every Wednesday morning at 8:45 a.m.  Each week this program features stretching routines and exercises that focus on the core, legs, arms and shoulders. The cost is $4 per class and is punch card eligible.

 

SENIOR FITNESS

Join is for our Senior Fitness classes on Friday mornings at 8:45 a.m.  This class uses stretching, aerobics and hand-held weights, to focus on exercising the body from the neck to the ankles.  Senior Fitness is designed for all levels of fitness. The cost is $4 per class and is punch card eligible.

 

KNITTING

Our knitting group meets at 1 p.m. at the senior center every Monday afternoon. This group loves to gather and chat, knit, and even do some crocheting, if you so choose.  Everyone is welcome to attend, just bring your knitting project to work on.  Please sign up in advance.
