331/344 Transmission Line Project
Soil Boring and Tree Triming Notification
Dear Neighbor,
As one of the regional electricity providers, we regularly update our systems to ensure you receive the best possible service to your homes and businesses every day. This letter is notifying you of upcoming activity in the 331/344 transmission line rights of way (ROW) on or near your property.
National Grid has contacted authorized personnel to perform geotechnical subservice investigations known as soil borings. These investigations help national grid obtain information necessary to advance the project by determining existing soil conditions along the project wrote. The work will be conducted within National Grid's right-of-way that passes near and/or through your neighborhood.
Soil warnings are expected to begin in August 2024 and remain ongoing through December 2024. You may see machinery similar to those pictured [in PDF attached below], within or near the existing structures in the right of way.
In addition to the soil boring activity, crews will be mowing brush and slash or trimming trees to access the sampling locations. All personnel conducting the field investigations will carry proper photo identification and letters of introduction, which will be made available upon request.
National Grid is committed to keeping residents, businesses, local officials, and community groups informed and engaged in the project. Throughout the project, if you have any questions or would like additional information, please reach out to our stakeholder specialist, Joe Carroll.
