REAL ESTATE PERSONAL EXEMPTIONS applications (fy2025)
Real estate exemption applications for both senior and veterans (and others) are available now and will be accepted as of July 1, 2024. Applications will be mailed at the end of June for past applicants. Applications are due by April 1, 2025.
REAL ESTATE abatement applications (fy2025)
Real estate abatement applications will be accepted as of January 1, 2025. Applications are accepted between January 1-February 1 every year. Anything submitted after February 1st (3rd this year, next business day) is denied per Massachusetts General Law. We understand that sometimes data is incorrect or missing on your file and the value needs to change.
REMINDER: the burden is on the taxpayer to prove that the value is wrong on your application and list an opinion
of value.
INSPECTIONS program (on-going)
Routine cyclical and sales inspections continue throughout the year. Verification of property changes is a large part of the assessment and valuation process. These inspections help ensure fair cash value on all properties in town per MGL CH59, S38. These inspections provide the most accurate data to produce assessments. Without the proper inspections, the assessment is estimated based on available building permit data and other sources. Cyclical (9 year)
We appreciate your cooperation when completing these inspections and creating fair and equitable assessments for all taxpayers. Inspections are completed all year mostly by town identified vehicles with department staff unless special projects are underway.

Residential: $13.22 (13.51 FY24)
Commercial, Industrial, Personal Property: $17.29 (17.99 FY24)
FY25 values will be posted in the GIS/database link in December 2024.
